That looks like just a simple projected view.

you can use the section tool of you want, change the configuration in the section view to match the flat pattern view or "use Parent"

Hi Omar, I too have been searching for a while to come up with a solution to that same issue. Essentially, to achieve that type of layout I pretty much perform these steps. I gather it is close, if not identical, to your first method.

-I start off by adding the view in its modeled state (top view)
-create the section views off of that
-hide the initial view (but keep the dependent section views visible)
-break the alignments for the section views
-insert the flattened development view
-and finally recreate the alignments between the flattened view and the section views.

This process works but I guess not ideal.

Use projected views and switch the projected views from the flat pattern config to the default config, and voila!

Edit: Here's an example, we do this!

Hi Alex, that does work great for projections views, but unfortunately doesn't apply when using section views.

Understood!

Why not proceed as such?

Edit: To clarify what I mean:
Have folded views that show all the profiles needed shown.
Have a flat pattern view
Include a 3D view to make sure it's clear for the guy on the shop floor

If working this way causes any sort of confusion, a note under the flat pattern wouldn't clear whatever confusion there is..?

Perhaps, if it's to clarify the folding process, you could create sub-configs to show the partial folding done?
