Can I get rid of all Scenes?
Whenever I open a new part created by others, it comes in with a scene/environment/background enabled. Is there any way to make these go away always and forever or am I stuck with deleting this garbage on every part? Again, I'm asking about parts created by others, not my own. Thanks in advance for ...

Red Equations, No Red Equations
I've got a model in which the Equations are showing red. Unfortunately, I cannot post the model. When I look at the Equation Manager, there is nothing red; nothing in Equation View, nothing in Sketch Equation View, nothing in Dimension View, and nothing in Ordered View. So... the obvious question is...

Re: Alternative to using Equations
I have a large part with sweeps representing cables. I have 4 equations for critical dimensions used on all cables. I have 60+ cables and I have hit major performance slow down. Re: Help with guide curves
The issue with this part is that SW doesn't like something about the relations in your profile sketch. If you delete them, the sweep with guide curves completes without errors. The trick will be to determine which relation(s) it doesn't like. Update: After some further tests I see what's happening....

Re: Help with guide curves
The shape can not change on a sweep, it can rotate around the center and/or contort when using "keep normal constant" setting, but the shape never changes. To get it to jut out on the left side like your skecth shows you would most likely have to do a loft or a series of extrudes/cuts. I ...

You're also using a path, right? Is the center of the ellipse "pierced" by the path? I don't actually have SW installed right in front of me, so I can't look at your file. The GC also needs to pierce the ellipse point. Make sure you're using the correct option "follow path and first ...

Re: Can I ask for help with SolidWorks?
Any model that you can bring into Solidworks can be measured with very high precision. Curved parts may be difficult, but measurements can be taken.
Are you aware of the cost of a Solidworks license? I don't think you're going to want to pay $5k just to measure a part.

My template has axes in it. I also have a macro to add them to any part/assembly file. These are not sketch axis, but the 3 primary axis that can be used on any sketch/feature. Does SW control the default print settings that it uses or is it entirely controlled by Winders? The reason I ask it because every time I print, I find that scaling has been set to 100%, which is rarely what I need. My Winders defaults are set to Scaling: None.

I don't know if this will apply for your situation, but when I need a 3d sketch I often create a solid first, with the edges where I want the 3d sketch, then use Convert Entities on it for the sketch.
