Re: mesh density and simulation results

All tools used by untrained person are not useful. The more powerful the tool is, greater the damage. FEA use a mesh to estimate the geometry. Bigger mesh, less accurate. Small mesh, more accurate. Mesh also means no smooth surface. Unless the surface is flat. FEA work perfect on a square. Not as mu...

Re: Clamping simulation

Problem is, the CAD model is perfect.
It won't move in CAD model as long as clamp and support line up perfectly.

To try:
Support use frictionless contact.
Clamp apply force with direction.

Also try Dynamic sim.

Or is something fundamentally flawed about how Solidworks PDM handles VPN traffic? SW cannot change network protocol. It's done by OS and hardware. IV can do multibody but part and assembly is easier.
You can put multiple frames in another assembly and get a correct BOM.
FrameGen-03.jpg
Frame Gen is based on Master Skeleton/Sketch which can be used to design the whole project.
One sketch connect and control the whole project.

Frame Gen in IV is parts and assembly. SW weldment is multibody part. Looks like the hole is cut as assembly feature hence you don't see mass different in part. Re: Missing commands

SW doesn't setup registry after install. Don't ask why.
It'll setup on first start and you HAVE TO close it to write to registry.
So don't do anything on first start.
Let it load, shut it down.

You can try export setting on first start and see what you got.
