#1 Opening file quicker. Sure that is better but not really where you would save real time or much money. The real time would be saved if it could knit surfaces together 5x faster. It will more than likely be hell dealing with 5000+ surfaces. By and large, Soildworks is pretty poo dealing with1000'...

I had originally written something , but it must have gotten away from me. Solid Edge is not as flexible as SW. It only has one way of doing each thing, which is easier to learn, but not as easy to make work by accident. So it's a blessing and a curse. SE has a definite order of operations it likes...

sometimes the solidworks appearance is just driving me nuts

only one appearance apply at part level, but it is not showing in graphic o[

(seem to happen most frequently on part save from assembly, aka Save as Part from assembly)

I have not deal with virtual part alot so i might be wrong...
But i think this is the "default" behavior when inserting part

You might need some additional code to remove the sketch / fix the origin after inserting the virtual part
