Wonder if its related to the long standing bug with launching the login from the standalone search tool. If the user clicks on a shortcut to the "search.exe" in the PDM folder, the login prompt comes up but it doesn't cache the files. You have to logout and back in. This is really old.......

Don't you want to have the model's revision number in the model's custom properties? I'm assuming you're expecting to keep your drawing and model at the same rev. Unless, your model files are not rev controlled by PDM?

We are no where big enough to have that problem, but someday there will be more than just me using PDM, and it is clear to me that PDM is a great solution for SW files, but not so much for everything else. It's conditional. For some variables like Drawing Number, it should be unchecked since the number doesn't change ever. For "ECO Number" it should be checked since each revision has a different ECO number. Unfortunately there isn't way to control the check / uncheck condition. Been trying ...

Yep. This is literally the worst thing about SW. The way it handles drawings. I ALWAYS use HLR views on my drawings. (Unless there is a very specific and/or compelling reason).
