Inline Animations and SWP Files

Hey Matt, Is there a switch somewhere to show the animated Gifs at https://www.cadforum.net/viewtopic.php?p=574&sid=173fde5f44ef1d921ca255c2e38a9451#p574 without having to click the image to open it separately. It's maybe not clear that those "pictures" are actually animated. Also, I n...

My Macros

Before anyone tries any of my macros, have a look over at https://www.codestack.net/solidworks-tools/ and see if there's a similar macro, if so use the one from the above site before you try mine. Those macros were made by artem . For those that don't know he's a programmer, I'm not. Some macros I'v...

Nice work Rob. We have custom bugs for our drawings based on old 2D CAD. I'll bookmark this for future reference.

I remember from previous abortive attempts at this that SWYM stands for See What You Mean. Although I'm not sure how that is relevant in any way. S mother W hat Y ou M ade S olid W orks, Y ou're M urdered S enseless W hile Y elling M adly Those are pretty good candidates for the "Deep Pit of D...

Tom,
Can you post this part? I'd like to take a look at it...Though, there's probably IP involved, or you would've done that already I'm guessing?

Re: What are your most impressive tricks of Solidworks

Okay, here are a few things I learned while preparing for the CSWE: 1. Use the S-key and assign commands like measure, convert entities, etc. 2. I use a Logitech g600 mouse and have assigned things like rebuild, copy, escape etc. to the side buttons. 3. Use the D-key to bring the checkbox to your cu...

Redirect HTTP to HTTPS

Hey Matt, Someone over at the SW forum ended up at the unsecured http site and was questioning how to get to the secure site. I believe there's a setting somewhere to redirect anyone who types http to the secure site, somewhere. It's probably at the hosting level, not forum management if I had to gu...

Re: Who is using SW 2021?

2021 vs 2020 has some good stuff (check out the www.solidworks.com/whatsnew), but the unsung hero is probably all the work under the hood on graphics performance -- especially in Drawings it now uses the new 'graphics pipeline' that's been around a few years. On top of that, a ton of quality work, ...

If you don't mind having the student marking on your files, you can get a free copy of SW Student by joining the Experimental Aircraft Association. I think it's only $40/year. Here's a link to the SW info https://www.eaa.org/eaa/eaa-membership/ ... rce-center

I can't attach a PDF. Is there a setting somewhere to allow other file types (definitely sldasm, sldprt, slddrt, and templates, text files, swp files, etc.)?
Here's the error:

No, not trolling. I would like to be able to retrieve old posts. I have learned a lot from the forum. SO, it would be good to have a few people that know how to get in there and find things. Good luck searching and navigating anything on the 3dswym site. While people might not all migrate over here...

... I'm just hoping that the information survives. In any case, they say they are bringing it all forward, and google should allow access to the info...
