Re: Bend angle problem
My mistake. I could have sworn that sheet metal had temporary axises but I guess I was confusing them with structural members. Thanks.... and yeah, it's mind bending since the bends are true radii,.. you can create a axis by selecting the face and the temp axis is visable when you offset the face. ...

Re: Bend angle problem
Pretty sure you could use the existing temporary axis to save having to create one. With that said, I did not think SolidWorks would handle this well so I hadn't suggested it. I didn't think it could handle the surface handling of the radius. Pretty neat to see that it can! Hello Alex, Good questio...

Hi Jim, Ok, sure many moons ago I had the basic NX Mach version as well, with a few modules (have to get the bill but it was freeform surface and animation) I could get it to crash no problem. Fact, NX handles crappy data really well, period. UU Yes, NX crashed less then and recently. ... than SW bu...

Creo and NX are on another suite/cost level... imho, this is really about SE (SW should not be here imho). NX, (with my limited exposure is NOT that easy to use) for the skilled user it has many ways to go, it has an impressive tool set but still trying to catchup with todays UI's and out of reach f...

I know this is a Solidworks forum and I am using Fusion 360, but I thought my questions, and any advice I got would be applicable. Re: Unexpected Parting Surface Behavior (at least to me)
Hello Ryan, I think you've answered your questions in that the drafted surface becomes dirty and the parting surface amplfies it. As you raise the image quality it's not terrible but yeah, if you want to use your manual surface to shutoff on that would be better.

Not sure if any of you have tried it out but the two ask gave me python txt scripts and there are interfaces for python to their 2D/3D programs. ...my gut tells me we'll see this refined in 2-5yrs and you can ask for a 3D file in whatever format (STEP, X_T,...)

Re: How to Delete Rounds in Solidworks? Cannot get FilletXpert to select the round.
For some reason SW cannot patch when I delete that top radius like you showed. Possibly due to 10deg draft on the sides, maybe because the rounds were not created in SW. I don't know. The delete & fill produces some rounded surface. Without seeing the data, I we don't know either... post a Para...

Delete/Fill can work well you delete in order to preserve faces but if the blend consumes the face, you're scrwd in any tool.
