Solid Edge Resources

Unread post by matt »

Here are some Solid Edge resources I've found. If you find more, please add them to this list.

- SolidDNA - https://www.soliddna.com/ This might be a little dated, but it is a site that has tons of information on it. Many google searches point you here, but you might as well just go there and have a look around.

- Solid Edge Forum - https://community.sw.siemens.com/s/topi ... solid-edge Siemens is another good one for catchy URLs so make sure to get this one from a link or search, cuz you're not gonna remember it. Lots of good stuff here including blogs, articles from gtac (or whatever their name is now) people, community experts, reseller experts, and others. You can still find some of my old articles up there as well.

- Solid Master Mind - http://www.solidmastermind.com/ I'm not sure if this is still maintained, but 10 years ago it was a good source of paid online training.

- Solid Edge Online Help - https://docs.plm.automation.siemens.com ... xid1129777 Another catchy URL. You don't have to have the software installed to get the help. Sometimes if you have a question, you can figure things out through this.

- Dezignstuff - https://dezignstuff.com From time to time, my site has Solid Edge information on it. Some of the information can be a little dated, but every page should have a date on it.

Tushar is the admin for the Facebook 'Solid Edge Users' group... which is also a pretty good resource (if you're into the FB thing).

Does the community edition count as a resource? It's free for learning and hobbyists. Not 100% fully featured, biggest limitation being that you cannot share SE files with anyone, but you can import from just about anything (SW works like a dream) and save STLs.

And this has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but the free training (as well as certifications) from Siemens is fairly good, no association, just some free 'big pimpin'...
Access Solid Edge learning assets on the Siemens Learning Center, free of charge. Please review the How to Register https://media.plm.automation.siemens.co ... deo_hb.mp4 video first, and then proceed to the Siemens Mentor Learning Centerhttps://www.mentor.com/training/ and follow the instructions from the video to access the Solid Edge for Education and Community library. Use promotion code SESCUSER to register and gain access for free.
No credit card needed. 8-)

Matt, your timing on these was impeccable and incredibly helpful for a SW convert.

Thanks! If you have suggestions for more video topics specifically for SW users using SE or things that could be improved on the existing ones, please let me know.
