My searches don't work.

No matter what I enter into the search bar it returns with "those are too common to search for". Is this something not working or something I'm doing wrong?

What are you searching for? Usually it returns that response for simple 3 letter works like "the". Also, you might get better results with the google search. In the screen shot below, the top search is the phpbb search, which kind of sucks, and the lower search window is google search, which sucks in a different way, but it generally works a lot better.

If I seach for CAD in the phpbb window, I get the "too common" complaint. If I put it in the google window, I get a different but more complete set of information I'm not interested in.

For some reason it appears to ignore everything I type in.

I tried the google search but it returned a bunch of stuff that didn't look right so I thought that was broke too.

Ok, well that's just weird. It seems entirely random depending on the words you use. It does not give me "Not found" but "Too common". On some words it gives not found and some words it does the search and finds stuff.

I'm trying to find the bad design thread. design is too common of a word. "bad design" is too common of a word. Can we loosen up the search filter a little bit? I struggle the same as Matt.

Try it again. I reset the search cache and fiddled with the numbers.

Much better, thank you. Does it search titles, or just the body of the post?

I assume the default is everything, but if you go to the advanced search settings, I think you can control body or title from there.
