Hey Omur,

Is there really a need for a different forum for the same thing..? Wouldn't integrating a module to this forum that could translate posts do the same thing...?

I understood. I belong to a cattle forum that previously used this same platform (it's since been updated to a different one that I like better).

Oh haha, I misinterpreted, I thought it was a reproduction of this forum but in your native language, my apologies!

As Matt stated, it is the phpBB base template, phpBB being a forum software. vBulletin is also a common one that is often seen.

Canadian.
One company I worked was up north in farm land.
Most of the machinist were farmer with livestocks.
Some had shop machine shop at home.
I guess most of them start with repairing their own equipment.

That would be Amish. Mennonites generally drive 1970's full size vans. At least as far as I have seen.

No apology is necessary. Along with some design work, I do the modeling and drawings for the eight or so engineers who work here. I also try to keep them out of trouble, but despite my best efforts that's not always possible.

I just noticed the 3DXperience platform has an interesting and awful interface layout design. It can easily be accounted for that each tab is 30% and that the middle is 40% of the interface. In short term, the totality of both tabs should be more compelling then what's in the middle. Not only that, as seen on the screenshot, the layout is put on a format designed for tablets/phones, which could be understandable because of restrictive space in those case, but in the case of people accessing the platform from computers, why isn't the layout made to scale accordingly to the zoom of the browser, or to scale accordingly to the user's screen resolution?

You see, that would take intelligence and work which is something 3DX seemingly lacks.

3DX philosophy:

marketing + marketing = money

work + intelligence = less money

How was everyone's labor day?

We had our annual Family Corn Roast on Saturday at my parent's house with well over 60 attendees. The weather was beautiful, the beer good and the food great! Here's a picture of a fringe minority of the family that was present at the gathering. I'm on the left in a red shirt for those wondering.

Perspective, Alex, perspective...Let me ask it this way, in what way has anything they've done on that platform given you the idea that it was made for ease of use for the user?
You'd probably have a better perspective if you approached it from the belief that the people pulling the strings over there hate you and are trying their best to make things difficult for you...From that perspective things would make a lot more sense...But, it's just a bloated bureaucracy where the users needs are at the bottom of the list...

I understand what you mean Matt, but I like to remain optimistic and believe that companies who have the second mentality you spoke of don't last and get cornered into foreclosure.

A bloated bureaucracy can unbloat once the profit starts going down. Eventually someone needs to explain the loss or the bloating continues until rotting happens. When rot has gotten into a company, nothing can save it.

Fighting for what we believe in is a big part in helping change mentalities. If you can change the mentality in a bloated company, you can save it from rotting and help it further prosper.

Every one want to be innovative. Everyone thing they're innovative.
Only a few people and company actually able to do "Disruptive Innovation".
Create something we don't have but will need.
Like Sony, Nintendo, Apple. Walkman, Game Boy, iPhone.

DS want to create something we will need. Well, user can't even pay, install, login. That's truly "Disruptive".

I think we are in the middle of it. When you live through the middle of something you don't have the perspective to know the big picture or the benefit of hindsight. Ya think the people that got swindled by Maddoff had any clue while in the middle of the scam. By the time DSS realizes the damage they've done, it'll be too late to salvage anything.

While I don't doubt that it happens, I think it's the exception rather than the rule.

I'M BUSTED!

Actually, I was on their forum "steering committee" for at least 1.5 years, from it's inception to its termination a few months ago. There were several of us that were passionate about what was wrong with the move to and the design of the new forum. We were not just telling them what was wrong, but what we wanted to see and how to do it. But then there was a sycophant that just gushed over everything they did. He is all over their forum, still gushing. I just cringe when I see his stuff. Frankly, he's part of the reason I only rarely go there. Well, that and the fact that it is an unholy clusterfudge - with nuts!

I agree with that statement, nonetheless that doesn't mean you should give up on your beliefs just because someone/something is not going along with it. I think you'd end up in a very sad position if you were to take that route in every decision you take in life.

So, as I said, I'll stand-up and keep on being loud about my complaints, even if it doesn't change $#!+, because going quiet and moving on certainly isn't going to help change things. Who knows, maybe an opportunity will arise from being ignored, such as a competitor listening to complaints and adapting to these.

I wasn't part of the whole group that you were part of but I've certainly been in touch with many people from Dassault to express my disbelief in their platform. To quote a message I sent them:
let's see the platform as a tree.

A tree has a trunk. What is the trunk of the platform? What part of the platform makes up for over half of the platform's potent?

The trunk has roots, that make the fundation of what the tree becomes. What are the fundations of the platform? The review from the article I read points them out but are those really it..?

Each branch can be seen as a part of the trunk. Each branch represent what you guys refer to as 'services'. Each twig represents an 'incidence' that links to the branch. The incidence can be positive or negative, it doesn't really matter in the representation.

Now, a tree can grow very big, to the point to become it's own nuisance. What happens when that does happen? Either the tree dies from staying as is, the tree adapts by having parts of it 'die' such as twigs and branches, or an external force comes in and removes the excess that exists.

Have you guys even gotten to the point of looking for what is excessive and what isn't?
These are all questions that can't be answered on their end.

Haven't noticed any changes in a while. I was hoping they would implement a decent tag system or something so we could filter by category like PDM, Simulation, etc. It's still just a stream of unconscious mess over there.
