X-Mouse Button Control (XMBC)

Unread post by Lucas »

Just want to share this software that I wish I knew years ago. lol

I was going crazy whenever I swapped to another CAD system, now everything is remapped and feelsgood.jpg

It’s possible to set every view movement in a three button mouse and IMHO better than my SpaceMouse Compact (at least during the design phase)

Ive used XMBC for years to remap the buttons on my generic mice. I'm using x-mouse right now because the current version of Logitech Options wasn't correctly applying my application specific thumb button commands for Solidworks. The one problem is that x-mouse will only map up to button 5 and my mouse has a button 6 that I would prefer be mapped to ctrl instead of task view. Been meaning to get IT to reinstall Options and see if they will live harmoniously.

Yep, there's this limitation due to Windows, but it's able to input more commands due to button chording/held.

Have been using for two weeks and I am loving it. Now every MMB and RMB pans and rotates the view all the same, it's so nice. lol
