How to post an avatar picture?

Unread post by Glenn Schroeder »

I found the process, but how do I get a file size small enough? On every file I've tried either the file size is too large, or it has too many pixels.

Hey Glenn,

Use paint, it's what I did, then I used the resize tool to be able to get it to the proper pixel size.

If it doesn't work, just post it here and we'll give it a try.

Avatar image settings:
minimum size 20 px x 20 px
maximum size 90 px x 90 px
max image file size = 100kb

I use Irfanview for a free image editor.

Hi @Glenn Schroeder

It took me two attempts to get my old place profile pic to work - after resizing in paint the file was still too large so saved as jpeg

@AlexLachance,

Thanks for the help. I tried several times without success, and finally noticed that when I did the Resize operation in Paint it was set to percentage instead of pixels.
