Getting Path Centerline from imported surface

Unread post by zwei »

Is there a way to get the path centerline from an imported surface below?

(It was known that the surface should have a constant diameter and the path is a spline)

Far too many items in the world are designed, constructed and foisted upon us with no understanding-or even care-for how we will use them.

Here are the steps :
(1) Use the "Face Curves" function to create four mutually symmetrical curves. (Pic 1)

(2) Use the "Lofted Surface" function to generate two mutually perpendicular surfaces from these four curves. (Pic 2)

(3) The curve obtained by using the "Intersection Curve" function is the center line. (Pic 3 & 4)
