Here's a link to the Realize Live sesion for Solid Edge 2022. This is going to be an on-demand session. I am hoping that means I will be able to access that when I want to.
This might be a eye-opener for those SW users to "Realize" what new functionality actually looks like. It's been awhile since you've seen it! ;-) You can also check out @matt blog post on What's New SW 2021!

Ryan, thanks for the heads up on this! I signed up for the session next week, it's nice that it is on demand, it can be hard to watch while you work at times. Eager to see what Solid Edge has in store for the 2022 release.

Hi Guys,

I don't know who watched Laura's and Dan's presentation at Realize Live U2U, it had a very exciting part, sneak peek of Solid Edge 2022.

Here is a link: https://events.sw.siemens.com/en-US/rea ... ion/527543

Some new features:

Radiate editing in synch
Equation Driven Curves
SubD offset and bridge
Convergent modeling
Deacals in assy
Gussets
CAD Direct
Assign Capture Fit
Match coordinate sys & suppress part/sub-assy in assy
FOA Table
Hydrostatic pressure

This is not the full list, it's a public...

BR,

I was tied up when this was live, and just got over to see it now. Looks like some great stuff. I think I know some CAD users who are going to be jealous of all the new development still happening in CAD.

Coming from SW, I'm curious. Are these real, usable features? Or are they placeholders for features that might be useable in 2 or 3 years once they get done flushing out the functionality?

As a former SW user I understand your skepticism.
My experience of SE is they have a habit of under promising & over delivering.*

* I'd probably make convergent modelling an exception to this, it is a monster of a task to take on & I expect it will take years to roll this out fully.

I'd rather have it like that than vice vs. like SW is known for!

Hi,

It works frankly... I have a colleague who was coming from sw and he didn't understand that SE "0" build (new software without service packages) works... He said that they had to wait for sp3 before using new version...

I have also noticed that SE users are actually excited about a new release!

SW users don't have a reason to be excited because it's just some more icon color changes and features that don't work.

I hope SE rubs SW nose into the ground with this...

zxys001: They're going to show you the SubD modeling in the 3DXP platform......WHY it's not put inside of SW is just beyond any reasonable person.

Dassault leadership isn't reasonable, forced upgrade is their motive. They don't understand their base and IMO, its doomed to fail.
