Hide with TAB Key.

Unread post by Damo »

I'm sure we are all familiar with this feature.
Hover your mouse/cursor over a component and hit the "Tab" key. It disappears.

Does anyone here know how to disable this function..?
Only because I sometimes inadvertantly suffer it.

I dont know about you guys but if I do actually wish to hide a component it is easy enough to do in several other ways that require more deliberate thought and action..

lol, alt-tabbing and solidworks doesn't pick up the alt and just tabs and hides the part. I know the pain

Yup. For ALT+TAB or CTRL+TAB it is a good idea to hold down ALT or CTRL before pressing TAB. :)

Thanks. Note that you will find it way down in the "Others" category.

Interestingly (and frustratingly,) I too often find solidworks doesn't pick up the tab key when panning too.. I'm expecting the model to drag across the screen, instead it spins in place..
Sometimes I question if I'm going crazy or just getting clumsy . 🙄

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but by default, it is the ctrl key + the middle mouse button that "pans" the model.

Ah yes,.. This is what I meant.
My stoopid brain was fixating on the TAB key. But yes, CTRL and Middle mouse Pans..
Cheers for the correction. 😉
