Rotate dimension text.

Unread post by SPerman »

What I have is the image on the left. What I want is the image on the right. Is there any way to force SW to do this? I can't find a way to get a diameter dimension to rotate 90 degrees.

I don't think it's possible. There are several SPRs requesting it.

I can give you a crappy workaround, not sure it's worth it though.

I can too, and it's not that difficult if it's just a one time thing. I wouldn't want to have to do it all the time.

I assume I can make a note and link it to the dimension value. Whatever the suggestion, I'm probably not going to want to do it 15 times.

Pretty much it, note and link to dimension value. I think the reason you can't rotate it is it's per Ansi standard.

That was what I had in mind, but after seeing your screenshot I thought of something else that might work in this situation. Have you considered hiding the dimension lines? You could set one dimension up that way and save it as a Style, which could then be easily applied to the other ones.

What about using ordinate dimensions?
